Sunsets:  Solar Pillars and Green Flash

February (2017), the Oregon Coast, U.S.A.  Dense, striated clouds marred the sunset sky, until at last
the solar disk pushed its way through the atmospheric wisps ... appearing as a solar pillar:

  
  

  
And minutes later, following the above scene, I caught the ever-elusive, ever-controversial green flash edging
along the top of the solar disk:
