Boobies In A Row

Blue-footed Booby (Sula nebouxii), Family Sulidae
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Explanation:  Four birds, eight feet bright blue.  Blue-footed Boobies in a row.

Sounds like a Dr. Seuss story, but it's true.

The blue feet of this species serve a special purpose.  The feet are waved around during the slow stepping dance the bird does in courtship.  Perhaps the bluer the foot, the more likely to snag a mate or to reinforce an existing pair bond.
